30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels
I started the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels yesterday. I've done this program a while back (like, years back) and thought I'd change up my workouts a bit. My 10k training plans calls for some cross fit days and I've become burnt out with my TurboFire & Focus T25 so insert Jillian. I made it through the first day okay, working different muscles with the weights feels good!
I'm going to take my photos and measurements today before I get to far into the program. I'll post my results on day 15 as well, as day 30 here. (See, by posting this here and saying it out loud, I have to keep up with the program.)

Hello....
It's been a while since I've wanted to start a blog. I wanted a place where I could really post how I'm feeling and talk about daily life...more than I can on facebook.
So, let's start with an introduction.
Hi, My name is Kim and I'm learning to be healthy. (Geez, sounds like an AA introduction).
Back in April, I had surgery to remove endometriosis, during that time I spent a lot of time in my dr's office before we figured out what was going on. He wanted me to go through a gamut of bloodwork. He listed one of the reason "obesity." That was an eye opener! I knew that I was very overweight, but could all my health problems really link back to my weight. The day I was cleared for activity after surgery, I started my lifestyle change. This day was April 24, 2013.
I started watching what I was eating and tracking my calories in my fitness pal. The first couple weeks were ROUGH! A portion size is how small? Really, only 13 chips? And 3oz of wine??? But, I got through it and the weight started coming off. I added in an old friend Turbo Fire and in June I started running and the T25 program.
As of today, I'm down 51 lbs. I've ran a 5k, and have been training for a 10k. I've done my longest run ever, this past week. 6.6 miles! (This is amazing from the girl who avoided sports and PE as a child.)
If you want to know more about me....just ask!
